| pretty sure that my cv joints are gone im gonna tear apart the rear axels this weekend i was trading emails with wayne at pelican and he said that normaly people do the inside or outside i thought since i am taking out the axels anyway i should replace them all what do you think any advise would be appreciated |

If you're the kinda guy that likes to do a messy job just once, then replace all four. Then clean up the old ones and inspect them - you might find that two or three of them are good enough to keep as backups (or paperweights or small boat anchors.) Don't let the dog eat the giant ball bearings though. Do let the cat eat them.
Don't overpay for them suckas. When I got mine a few years ago I paid something in the $55-$60 (each) range for the whole kit including cv joint, boot, grease, clips. As I recall, some places were selling them for about twice what I paid.
You probably already know this, but; you'll need a special tool to remove the cv joint bolts. It's similar to a screwdriver bit, only a bit larger (mine fits into an 8mm socket) and has a star pattern like a Torx screwdriver, except it has 12 points instead of the Torx's 6. Don't recall where I got it - either from NAPA or from where I mailordered the cv joint kits from.

I just did 4. I found the lowest price for the joint at vertex.com($55) the boots I got at Perf. Products with 15% for PCA members. I also used Valvoline semi-synthetic grease for the joints. A thin coat of hi-temp rtv seals the boots to the joint nicely. If you find you need a new axle for some reason, I have 2 from the parts car I just bought.

| Replace all four. It is just like anything else on the car, if you do just one side, the others will go very soon. I get mine at the VW dealer. You will need the part number, but they will be much cheaper than Porsche sources. I paid right around $50.00 each. I just saw a set of the spline wrench adapters at Pep Boys for $7.88. Any parts house will probably have them. |

| pelican sells the joints for 49.95 each so 200.00 for all four boots clips seals extra im going to pull off the old ones and take a look but i agree if they need to be replaced im going to do all four |
