Joe, you may want to wait for the 2nd dash I am going to be making. This is just the stock replacement one, I am going to use this mold to make stock style replacements, and also to make a plaster copy to modify to make a 2nd dash with modern styling and no glove box, heater vents or center console (more of a race style one, closer to the style of the newer 944 dash, but more radical than that).

Man the weather was nice today.. I watched a show here around 5:00pm and it was showing how they made the molds for prototype 1963 stringrayvette and mated it to whats called a bird nest steel frame .. it was neat

I used my oven. I put half of it in at a time and clamped it down while it cooled. I am also going to weld up a light aluminum frame so it will be semi-removable.

looks cool, fits perfect, well was it hard to do,how did you make the template ,how is it attached, did it stink up the house like burning plastic, will plexi hatchback and side windows be next.you'd need a bigger over for the hatchback, a suggestion: you can buy the parts to a gas bar-b-que grill, burner, hoses, thermostst controled valves,if your thinking about making a angle iron framed, fiberglass insulated, corregated sheet metal oven. I wanna play with this stuff

Plexiglass (acrilite) only stinks if you burn it, otherwise it is totally odorless. It takes about 250 degrees and 5-10 minutes to get it pliable, then you have to hold it in the form you want it until it has cooled. You would need pretty extensive heating facilities to make a rear hatch though, I would suspect it is worth it to buy one for $500 for the trouble it would be to make one.
