I thought you said you passed a compression test in a previous post

instead of replacing the timing belt you could have replaced the head gasket and the car might be running although 10 lbs seems extremley low compression for a blown head gasket but

YOU ARE NOT LISTINING GET SOMEONE TO REPLACE THE HEAD GASKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask your self.... If you were to do what we are all trying so hard to tell you.... if you replaced the head gasket, your car would run and you could enjoy a Porsche for maybe 200 dollars worth of parts. Or you could dump your Porsche and drive an old beater for much more money. Which car would be more fun this summer?

a Porsche would definately be funner than pretty much and other car... I have a friend who always reams on my car, because he doesn't like anything without a big block V-8. Anyways I let hime drive it this weekend, he went on and on about how much he liked my car. I was really proud. he still also went on about how gutless it was, which is kind of true...

aight how about you all listen to me, I did the compression test and everything was fine, when the timing belt snapped it bent a valve. so i guess here's a first 924N/A in the history that did bend a valve when the belt snapped

impossable 79 924s cant bend valves it just isnt set up to have that happen when you

Could be a lot of carbon built up on the pistons caved in the valve.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you have a bent valve you should have no compression in that cylinder because you literally have an open hole in it.

10psi isn't much. if you spin the engine fast enough you could get that kind of pressure even with an open hole. depending on how bent the valve is - which i can't believe is the problem. no pre-87 924na will bend a valve when the belt snaps. you can suck a valve if the retaining clips break and bend it. but that's about the only way. and that is entirely independent of a broken belt.

a much more likely scenario is that the belt was not put on properly and either the intake or exhaust valves are opening too early and letting the compression out. easily verified by seeing if you have equally low compression in each cylinder.

do what everyone is telling you and take your car to a shop. your posts are getting overwhelming.

Nah, I say sell it. Let someone else fix it and drive it the way it should be driven. They're not your father's oldsmobile. Just sell it.

well i guess everyone got a tone of voice hinting that I am a retard, I have taken it to the shop, and had the timing belt put on there, so as new pulley. the guy who did it was a professional, and he did it right. so it's not a timing
