Hi everybody! I have just fixed and got my car to run again after 5 months of sitting in the back yard, but the problem is that my turn signals and horn don't work anymore, the flashing light on the dash that suppose to flash after you click to turn - well it's on but it doesn't flash. and btw when I press the brake, my brake light doesn't go on either...

thanx in advance

Dan

After sitting that long your lamps are probably crudded. Take them all out and clean the contacts. The rears are the most likely culprits since the brakelights are involved.

anybody suggest fuses? I once spent a whole day trouble shooting a faulty headlight motor (had to replace it once before) and after much work, my girlfriends little brother asked if I had checked the fuse, guess what, it was the fuse! DOOHH!!!

Replace the flasher located under the dash, you can get it at Autozone for about ten dollars.

there are relays above the fuse panel. Sounds like they might be bad. You can jump the contacts to see if its the relays or the wiring. Also check the ground for the whole pannel of fuses and relays

About the brake lights, check that the ground connections back by the rear clusters are good and the connection is tight. Also check that the sockets in the clusters are tight and free from corrosion.

My brake lights quite last year, and it was the pressure switch.

The BLS (brake light switch) on these cars is in the MC in the form of a pressure switch, not a switch on the brake pedal like the 944 and other cars. Look at the electrical connections on the MC. They often break or get corroded.

The pressure switch is located on the side of the master cylinder. It just screws into place. Mine has two wires going to it. To check it, have someone apply the breaks while you check for continuity accross the switch.
