Having some trouble finding anyone here in the uk to even show interest.
Also having trouble getting msds to reply to me(about their header).
Anyone have an oppinion of how this compares to the one on ebay?
Would really like a stainless system, not all that keen on the black header! |

Honestly, I have had all three headers. The Bursch, the MSDS and the one off eBay. They are all the same design. Between them all, I like the first two the best, but the one off eBay you can't beat for the money. It's a good setup, good build. No complaints at all. Worth every dime (or whatever your currency is over the pond). _________________ Classic British Sports Car Restoration v6 + v8 Engine Conversion Swaps

How is the clearance at your alternator with the different designs. I beleive the one I have is the Bursch design and it basically sits right against the cooling air intake for the alternator. This is after I modified the intake so that the header would even fit. (BIG HAMMER and TORCH method).
The one on ebay looks like the number one cylinder tube would stay away from the alternator.

i used to have popping on decelleration from above 2000 rpms, i now do not have this problem anymore. This was with the exhaust chang to a 944 from the downpipe back, attatched from just above the collector in the downpipe. I recently had the head reconditioned with a modified cam grind with about 12 degrees more duration over the stock cam. I port matched intake and enlarged exhaust ports, increased runner sizes as well as doing a valve pocket port. At the same time i took a look at the join between the stock header and the stock downpipe. To start with the stock header has bad casting marks inside and i cleaned them up and opened up the ports a few millimeters , then opened up the two collectors to the same diameter as the runners using the gasket as a template. The collectors are offset to the gasket, and one side was opened up around 5 millimeters. The same for the downpipe as well, the welding is to say quite rough and although it takes a while to grind cast iron i feel it was quite worth it. I think my engines putting out between the 140/145 hp mark now.

What specific model is it from and does anyone know what the equivalent european model was called? |
Hi
I believe it is a European Audi 100 from the mid-late eighties.
Another tuning proposal that you haven't mentioned in this thread is to shave off 2 mm from the engine block. This is a more cumbersome way to increase the compression ration than changing pistons but it could be cheaper if you have good connections with a close by workshop. Drivers in Sweden have done that with success. This alone with new H&K air filter and headers gives 135-138 hp from 125 stock hp.
Best regards

One more thing...do you have the link to the ebay headers mentioned in this thread?
I can't find it when searching on "porsche 924 headers".
Thanks a bunch

You'll need a time machine for that, I'm afraid. If you look carefully at the previous posts, you can see a date and time stamp. . . _________________ Toofah King Bad

And....if you go to the for sale section you can buy most of these parts from applebit since he is installing V8 in the car. _________________ 1976 924

[quote="cleethorpes"]Interested in the throttle body mod (audi 5000).
Then I aim to fit an eaton supercharger(need to look into the implications further), intercooler, fit discs to the rear, lower by 2-3cm etc .
Somewhat like someone else on this sight who's name escapes me!
Don't at this stage have a clue how much the blower will cost, and the fitment details")
Hi, yep the Eaton blown car is mine, I can assure you that the vast majority of the development work has been done in my lockup, so its possible by anyone. I am willing to help.
The best model is the M62 Gen 4 Eaton and if you can get some alloy sheet you can cut and have fabbed up a custom inlet manifold . This gives you the space to make a blower mount in the area below the original inlet manifold.
Cost varies but as Eaton have now introduced the newest TVS blowers the Gen 4 models should be going a bit cheaper new and a good used model should be no more than say £300 ish.
I am about to break the rules a bit and fit a new EATON M90 which is in truth too big but I aim to try and make it work for me and give around 1 bar of boost.
I would appreciate the link to this ebay exhaust header though as anything that will make the engine breath better is a good idea when using a supercharger.
Send me a private mail with a tel number and I'll give you a call to discuss how to fit the blower etc if that helps.
Cheers
