Today I started replacing the clutch in my '88 924S. I was not off to a good start because I had to drill out 4 of the 6 header to exhaust pipe bolts. After that everything seemed to go well as I lowered the exhaust and prepared the transmission for removal. I've now hit a snag as I'm trying to remove the transmission. I can't move it back far enough to get the torque tube coupler to dislodge from the splines on the transmission, I keep hitting the spare tire well. Any advice would be appreciated. If I don't figure something out soon I'm just gonna cut a hole in the tire well then patch it when I'm done.

undo the bolts on both ends of the coupler, tranny side and torque tube side
I do know it can be difficult, but is possible, then you can slide the coupler onto the tranny and get it out of the way

Thanks for the tip, all I needed to do was slide the coupler into the trannie not the torque tube and it came right out. It also probably helped that I had a nights rest so my mind and body wasn't burned out anymore lol.
