I'm sure this has been beat to death but I'm finally getting the opinion after doing some research and owning a 924S with this option, that it can mean two things. I guess I'm looking for other opinions or a confirmation of mine.

One source quoted 756 as being "Special Model 924S USA 1988". I've also seen another source as quoting the 756 as being a "Lemans" model

Mine is black, has the gray/burgendy striped seats and inside doors, has the sport shocks and has had the rear window wiper and motor removed. In addition, the rear wheels are the 7" ones with the fronts being the 6".

It does not have the light blue wheel accents nor the light blue stripping inside and that seems pretty definitively a "must have" before it can be considered a "Lemans" model.

So..what do y'all think? Is it possible that there was a "Lemans" model that came to the US without the light blue highlights and if not, then what the heck is the 756 "Special USA Model"?

Tks Duck. Yes..ran the VIN and all it would tell me is that it's a 924 for USA/Canada/Japan. It wouldn't even tell me the year model. (sigh) It would appear that no one really has an answer.

But..I'm still hoping someone, somewhere can give me some insight.

Appreciate the reply.

Have you tried contacting Porsche Cars North America? They may be able to give you more information.

Tks much Paul. Lots and lots of good info there but unfortunately, nothing new. I keep hoping some Porsche guru will stumble across this post and come up with an answer.
I didn't even ask about this one because I haven't seen it listed anywhere but also on my options list is the code: C057.
I'm afraid to ask about that one
Appreciate the attention though and I'll keep plugging along..tks agn.

All the PET CD says is "Special Model '88 (USA)". I guess one would have to go through the parts manual and see what things that code shows up next to.

FWIW: A quick look of interior parts shows the 756 code as having Burgandy carpeting, trim and linings, and the seats "leatherette, pinstripe flannel, gray & burgandy". No mention of any mechanical differences in wheels or brakes, and no mention of any special stickers or markings. I found no mention anywhere of the "C057".

Ahhh..now there's an idea. Go through the parts manual. I'm taking the car in for a 15K stem to stern inspection/adjustment Monday and I'll ask the mechanic if he has any info. Tks for the info.
BTW, although I'm living in NC now, I was raised in Indianola. Nice to see other MS folks in here.
Also, all those interior things you mentioned are in this car. The shocks are orange/yellow (hard to tell with the age) and the rear wheels are definitely 7 inches vs the 6 up front. Only a driver's side outside mirror as well. It runs like stink too

I checked the wheels again, and there aren't any option codes associated with them. The 15" phone dials were available in 6" or 7" (rear only) widths, as were 6Jx16 flat dish rims. The passenger side mirror is also just an option. My car doesn't have one either, but one of today's projects is to mount one. Holes are cut, mounting plate all shaped right, wiring harness installed (thanks again Gohim), mirror painted to as close a match as I could get with off-the-shelf spray paint. Photos later this weekend....

Just got the car back from the mechanic and I ask him about finding out what parts come under the "756" option. He had nothing listed I'm afraid.
He did establish however, that it did not have a LSD which I found kind of interesting. Oh well....I gave it a shot.
Tks to all who read and responded to this. I now have my 88 924SE 51K miles up for sale so I can afford this Infinity G35 Sport Coupe that I've been slobbering over for the past 2 months. I know, I know...I'm a traitor to the cause but even the most dedicated amongst you will have to admit the G35 is a hellofva car, especially the 6MT.
