Here's a tank:

Might not be that far from you.

I will probably just have him clean it if it isn't too bad. The only two porsche places around here are the dealer and fairwinds. Fairwinds sux. They try to rip u off and i still wonder how they got to be certified mechanics. They can't even do simple wiring correctly. I checked all the receipts that the PO had from them and then i went and fixed it correctly. They screwed up a lot of stuff that was simply they used a connector of the wrong size so it wouldn't fit. I don't trust them because i will just get a shitty tank from them.

Pita; Ya - I'm probably a big one. Jeez, I've bin sleeping with
a grandmother for 15 years!
I cleaned out my tank by taking off the plate on the bottom
of the slosh pot .It seems it was put there for those who
like to run on min. fuel and still get keep her goin in the
corners! Can't remember now but I think there is 6 or 11 small
bolts holding that plate on . 10mm wrench I think.
I put in the bigest replacement gas filter that I could find
at the parts store (GM I think)between the tank and da pump.
Also just cuz- change the second filter up front on the driver front
fender well . Go for the right one.
Oh - while I'm thinking about it, just because the gas gauge
says emty, the tank might suprise you with a little more than you
thought so . . .

Who knows , I'm just passing on stuff I learnd and if any of this
will help ya to get the 4 perkin it might be a feather in your
hat at home! Good luck! G
