Car now starts at -7C/20F without effort... but as the car inevitably warms up as you iterate, that work all needs to be re-checked with it back to stone cold state. So back into it early next week to validate yesterday's work... and maybe one or two other little tweaks... then she's ready for the owner to enjoy!

Ain't technology wonderful!?!!

Happy new year to everyone!
I hope you had a nice time for the holidays.

Vaughan, thank you very much for your help and your input, i really appreciate it.
I took some time to rest the past 2 weeks but i’m back at it and i will integrate your improvements to the downloadable tunes on my website.
It is an honor to have your input on the tune.
In the end this is a community effort to keep our beloved 924 running for the future.

Here is a shot from my garage/studio and a shot of the 928 that is now running rather well on the 928 EFI kit.

Cheers!

Yeah, just realized I didn't come back and close the loop on the tune here at this end... the shop absolutely LOVES the car now, since it starts so easily and just behaves itself so nicely, despite 20F temps and all.

Still hasn't gone back to the customer, as it's now moving into the next stage of restoration - the chassis needs and is now getting a thorough overhaul... should take a lot less time than the engine redo, so I'd imagine he'll have it back in another month or so, well in time for spring enjoyment...

Meanwhile, side note, I've been fighting with another ECU and engine cal (also for Munk's, the shop who did this 931 conversion)... it's running a different ECU, the EMU Black, and I have to say I see now by comparison the MaxxECU is definitely a far superior product - will definitely be recommending it for any other future projects! I think it's a bit more powerful and adaptable than perhaps the Microsquirt is... but still very cost-effective, and distinctly better than the EMU Black...

Hoping we can line up a candidate for a 928 conversion next! Rick's definitely much more confident in doing another using your kits, after working through the first one...

Now it sounds like I have to decide if I'm willing to tackle a big leap over and help a friend convert his Ferrari, from carbs...

Having the first 928 customer kit installed at the end of the month or latest begining of Feb, will be in the Netherlands.
Would be very happy to send one to you guys as well.
Having a rally 924SC fitted with my stuff in Feb, rally start is in late March.
And another Dakar 924 project that i will be providing the EFI kit to after that.

I’ve had to do with EMU as well and i’m very thankful to Cedric, as he was the one to point me towards MaxxEcu.
Its by far the most powerful, useable, stable and easy to set-up system for that money. There are others that can do more stuff but for a lot more money and time spent dialing it in, maybe worth it for some, but i’m convinced that MaxxEcu is the perfect solution for the Porsche enthusiast in all of us, and more.

Small update, the customer with the 931 conversion was in Saturday to visit his car (more work still underway) and take it for a test drive, see how things were going... last time he drove it the chassis was all worn out and the engine was still running the original CIS...

So this was a massive update for him, and as expected he was thrilled - once again a lovely car to drive, both with a good tight chassis and lovely driveability and response out of the motor.

Another satisfied customer...

Slowly making progress with that EMU Black 911, starting to make it tolerable and driveable, but every time I get in it I wish I had the MAXXEcu, for sure...

I plan on ordering my EFI kit in early summer, still have to get a few bugs sorted out before ordering. I'm seriously considering getting the supercharger kit too. I'm hoping for a noticeable improvement in power and performance. What have others experienced when installing both kits together?

The EFI can enable some more boost, since the standard kjet runs out of puff at quite low boost levels. Talk to Ciprian about what pulley options he has at the moment. It will not make the 924 into a rocket ship, but it makes quite a big difference, especially felt at low rpm. It feels like a bigger na engine, but the added sound effects add the to fun and makes it addictive, in a way the sewing machine in the 944 for example cant match ,
