Hi folks,

To make a batch we need to order a certain volume, we can not only make few dozens of units. With only 5 pre orders from there (especially at this such soft price), I strongly fear that it will not be possible to make a batch.

How many sets do you need to kick off a first batch? It think it could take some time to get the word out, like through the UK OC and all the local communities, FB groups etc, its not easy to get the in touch with all 924 owners.

Interested, What is your installed height and spring rate at that height?

We need to secure 20-25 sets to start a such project.
I know that here this topic was being discussed many times, so I do expect to collect the majority of interest on the board.
I have secured 5 sets apart from that but the risk remains still high.
I expect the regular sales will be quite slow to be honest, most of the people are not that much interested to replace an existing component that visually looks in good condition, even if there are some reasons to replace it before it breaks.

Installed height is not a spring characteristic, it’s a valve train characteristic. I mean it depends on valve stem length, and valve face + seats recess. It is generally measured without spring installed.

Installed force is expected to be about 85bs at 42,4mm installed height (original height).

Many fellows reported some softer values : there ave been plenty of springs made over the decades and many of them were designed to be softer than the original ones. Even the latest OE springs made are softer then the true originals. On top of that, heads can be worn (installed height increased and installed force decreased). Original spring material grade exhibit a certain sag that can decrease even more this theorical installed force. It can be measured after only 1000kms, and carries on with time.

If the installed height is too big, it’s recommended to insert shims below lower spring seats, to retrieve the correct spring force.

I hope I'm clear.

Installed height is the height of the spring as it is installed in the application. Would have thought it was clear that for a stock replacement spring we would be talking about the standard installed height.

Thanks for the answer. This may be too soft for my application.
