Hi All,

I've looked around the forum and couldn't find anything exactly as my issue. My headlights are going up but won't go down.

I have checked Clarks Garage and tested the power going to the 4-pin connector. All looks good except the green wire, it is reading ~11V while the other (blue?) reads ~12.6V when the lights are off. From Clarks Garage they should both read 12V when the lights are off.

So, if I short the green and blue together, the lights go down!

Is this likely to be an issue with the switch, poor connection somewhere? Does anyone know how to test the switch.

Thanks
Stu

Tested resistance between pin 57k (which I think goes to the green wire on the headlight motor) and X when the switch is in the off position and it is reading ~0 Ohms, so I guess the switch is ok?

Give them a tap with the palm, perhaps there is a mechanical issue that the motor cant overcome.

Check the plastic cover that surrounds the headlights. Sometimes that can come loose and prevent the lights from moving freely. And in that case the motor can burn out or worse. Even after you turn off the ignition, the motor could still be trying to retract the lights.

Thanks for the replies, I don't think it is a mechanical issue as if I supply 12V to the green pin the lights go down as you would expect.
