Hi,
Trying to fit a new cambelt to my 924 (engine is out and belt was off when I got the enginet) and want to confirm the cam and crank are correctly positioned at TDC. If I line the crank to the mark on the pulley, what is the best way to determine if the cam is at TDC?

Thanks

There is a similar mark on the cam as well. When both are on their marks, things are where they should be.

Hope that helps,
/K

Note that the mark on the cam gear is on the back (windshield) side of it.

Is it possible for the mark on the cam gear to be out of sync, as in the gear having rotated independently of the camshaft?
Is there any way to verify that the gear is in sync with the shaft?

cam pulley is on locating key, can't be misaligned. You need to get No1 cylinder at top dead centre on compression stroke and TDC on the flywheel

Follow the setting up on here:-

Ah thanks!
I decided, for some reason, to adjust the camgear itself for it to line up after waterpump replacement and it felt like it slipped from the shaft. But I haven't had problems since so that explains why
