Is this too close to the rim?
I also only have 4 turns of engagement for the wheel bolts, guess longer ones are needed. |

Two possible. First, if you use stick on wheel balance weights you might have a problem with rubbing. Secondly, are your brake discs entirely on the rotor or off the edge, If so you will have the rotor dragging on the over hanging edge of the puck. The overhanging pad can be cut off with a hack saw. I had both of these on my race car. _________________ Mike

Yes, get longer bolts!
You don't need much clearance, 2-3 mm should be enough. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

It's only 1mm gap right now...
I think probably best option is to use a wheel spacer since new longer bolts are needed anyway. Plenty of room for spaced out rear wheels on the 924, arguably worth it just for the better look.
That will increase the clearance by moving along the "taper" of the wheel barrel and also provide a space in which the stick-on wheel weights can be safely placed beyond the caliper.
I have no pad overhang (in fact about 3mm unused disc) because I had to move the caliper in until the carrier slot was almost touching the disc to maximise the wheel barrel clearance. In the end I am using very tiny pads (31mm high) on a disc with 40mm of possible surface so it's not really a problem. |
