Went back there this year again, sadly my 924 wasnt on the road this year...but my old 931 made it, my old Cayman made it...and bits of my old GTS wannabe made it in the turbocharged 944 of a friend...and i made it there again with the three friends i always go with and a bunch of people following us in various other Porsches.

Spent the weekend up on the mountains at our annual Porsche meeting, 10 years since the first meeting now.
Sadly my 924 wasnt ready in time for the meet so i took the 996.
Had a blast driving the 996, i was a bit worried about the fact that it doesn't have PSM or ESP but the car inspired confidence enough to even go close to the limits of the tires. I didnt expect that.
Chassis is very well set from the factory, front end goes where you want it to, back end follows nicely, tons of actual mechanical grip.
Steering weight is just perfect and matched with the brakes, throttle and momentum of the car.
Being a tiptronic, i obviously drove it in manual mode and it felt great, even the buttons on the steering wheel felt decent and didnt get in the way of a lovely experience.
That low and mid tone grunt soundtrack of these early watercooled engines is amazing to me as well, way better sounding than the Cayman i had before.
Feels exotic and rewarding to drive, I'm impressed to say the least.

Even the missus enjoyed it...not while i was driving though
