Hmm, i wonder what springs Gegge have in his n/a build, he use to find stuff from all sort of car that fit, he isn't that frequent here nowdays though. |
In the tuned n/a engine I put valvesprings from the group buy 10-15 years ago. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Hmmm....Maybe it was longer than five years ago for the last spring group buy. Jeez, I'm getting old. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

That sounds about the right timeline for the ones I have... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Dealer did write back and confirmed the fitment is correct for part # PCG109623 - but I forgot to ask if that covers one valve or one motor! It's listed as a "set" - have written back to try to get that answer... Oops. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Heard back late yesterday from the dealer, confirming that's one set is one inner and one outer springs, 8 sets will be needed per motor - at about $63 per set.
That sounds much more like the expected Porsche pricing!!
Still, to get original quality and new... _________________ Vaughan Scott

If I am looking around one has to be sure a spring and retainer choice would work with the stem size _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

Vaughan
When I had 931 spring sets made for the 931 head, RD Spring charged $322 for the springs/retainers/ seats and delivered in 2-3 weeks. There was also a significant reduction in weight as the beehive springs are lighter than stock and the retainer was about 8gm vs 28 stock. All he would need would be the dimension from the bottom on the intake valve spring seat to the top of the valve stem.
