I am getting my injectors properly cleaned at a local shop. I already popped them out of the engine but I can't seem detach them from the fuel line.

I had a 14mm line wrench on the fuel line nut, and a 12mm line wrench on the hex part of the injector. Tried to twist them off but the injector hex part started to get rounded off.

Using fire on anything around the fuel system sounds like a dumb idea. Any tips on how I can get the injectors off?

NA injectors are pretty cheap aren’t they?

Probably best to just replace them anyway..

Can you get a full box end wrench on the injectors? Or even better a 6 point (as opposed to 12 point) full box end wrench, or even deep well socket, onto the injector?

Box end (12 pt) of my 12mm wrench worked perfectly. Got all the injectors off the fuel lines. Probably what did it was the extra leverage on the wrench compared to my short line wrench I was using. Thanks for the tip!

I can order new ones but the shop near me will test them for $15 a piece and clean them (if needed) for $25. Best part is they only need a couple of days turnaround. Shipping to Canada is slow and expensive

Are you sure they can test k-jet injectors? Most shops that tests injectors can't.

You can test them yourself. Stuff them in bottles (connected), bridge the fuel pump and press the metering plate, you can press it fully or partially for different test of fuel flow.
How much they flow per second or minute can be calculated, but not that relevant, just that they flow even and that the spray pattern is nice and even.

Mine were dead - I bought new ones. They are expensive as these are the same P/N as in 911 Turbo (930).

I think the spray pattern and that all injector spray the same amount in time is most important - can be checked by yourself. Just as I did here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZmhpwkb5ho

If the flow is uneven, move the injector to another line, confirming that it is the injector that is at fault and not something else.

I tested the injectors before trying to remove them. Spray pattern was horrible and very unequal: lowest volume injector had about ⅓ the volume of the best injector. That’s when I decided to get them cleaned.

However the shop tried and was unable to clean them. They have a K-jet tester and couldn’t get a good spray pattern at the right pressures. I ended up ordering new ones, which I probably should have just done at the very start given how bad the initial test was.

Looking forward to receiving the new injectors. Shocked my 924 was running at all knowing now how bad the old injectors were.

Once I had the injectors removed I did another flow rate test and it was all roughly equal.

Imagine how good it will run with new injectors!!

Do a flow test the same way but with open lines and see how even that is..

I don’t remember if the NA FD has screens under the banjo bolts that go into the fuel head..
Maybe check..

Might be a hood tume to put tecron in it and flow on the empty lines and see if anything nasty is coming out also..
Then do it again the next day after the tecron has had a chance to sit in there a while..

Maybe a new fuel filter..

Yes I can’t wait for the new injectors to come in! New fuel filter last year was a small help. But now I know compression is good, fuel lines are good, and the injectors are terrible, I think the brand new injectors will be awesome. Just hoping all will be good with the part numbers, pelican did not have any search results so I bought from another site which previously sold me wheel seals that didn’t fit.

I have a bottle of techron ready to go as well, once I have the car in running order I will put it in the tank

Yes, I see injectors, both k-jet and normal EFI, as wear items. Cleaning can only do so much.

Good luck with the new injectors, I bet it will be night and day difference.
