This evening finds me in the paddock at Silverstone Circuit. I am team manager for a team taking part in the Birkett relay. This is the 71st running of the Birkett, it is a relay race over 6 hours, I have a team of 3 cars with 4 drivers, and it works like this, car 1 starts, runs for an hour or so, comes into the pit lane passes its garage where car 2 is waiting for it to pass at which time it then exits and continues the race and etc etc for 6 hours. There are 70 teams, yes that means there are 70 cars on track!
We have 6 teams running under the CALM banner and my team, no. 38 is a Boxster team, has some 15 members. The other teams are mixtures of 924,944,968 and boxsters.

This can't be a Porsche only event since the oldest are barely 70 years old. Sounds like quite a bit of fun for all. Endurance races are TEAM sports. Everybody has skin in the game!

Oh my, that's an exciting pile of confusion for the track! Just about guarantees you never know who you're racing against!
