What's the best method? All mine seem to have this sparkly crystalline stuff on them, wondering if that should be removed, and how? Paint them, or chemically rehab them?

Questions, questions, questions...

The dry plastic as a sparkly element to them, certainly on the 3 sets I have if I allow any surface treatments to fully wash off.

My guess would be the small percentage of fiberglass gets exposed after sun exposure rendering them sparkly. They were not always this way back in the '80's

I've been wanting to scan them for printing since the ones I've seen are STRAIGHT which is incorrect. Obviously though for me this hasn't been anywhere on my priority list just yet. I also figured if I print them the originals can be parked.

I 3D printed one that I found on the internet. Looks good but I have no idea if its the right size since I don't have a turbo panel to try it in. I'll post a picture when I get home.

The last one i printed from the net was flat. It looked like one but was not exact. This was a while back though so I don't know what is out there now

This is the one that I printed. It has slanted slats in the vent.

What do you mean by "flat"?

Exactly this one!

The original is a bit different. Its close but different. I'll look again today but I remember it being curved ever so slightly.

Don't get me wrong though. I'd use these too
