So fast, so smooth.

Unreal.

For all the effort and expense I put into Shaggy, I could have built this car twice.

Applies to me building my red GTS wannabe vs buying a real CGT when prices were low. Or selling what was left of the wreck and buying a Cayman.
But i do not regret building my iron hero and you shouldnt either.
The iron lump will always have a place next to my heart...thats why i built the current one...its un-efficient and lacking in may ways but it compensates by simply making me happy.

Have you worked out the two vertical nose panels either side of the fmic need to be bent outwards to avoid the vents of the turbo badge panel??

Are you going to use the 944 turbo intercooler ducting? I would recommend it.

I'll be notching those vertical pieces for the time being, and hopefully add later the little side scoops used on the 931.

Not ducting at this time, although I may seal around the IC to force more air through it.

I bent my verticals outwards to clear the outer badge panel vents before welding them.

You should see OK cooling without the duct if its primarily used on the road with sporadic boost. The IC is hefty in size and weight and doesn't heat soak easily. Ducting may be needed if using in anger to help cool the IC more. Doing this on mine gives an IC outlet air temp circa 6-8degC above ambient with inlet temps on WOT over 100degC. Was higher without ducting.

I'll be going down the same route on the CGT race rep car too

Interesting, thanks for the picture.

I'll let you know how it works. Keep in mind the 2.5 is much cooler blooded....

The effiiency of the intercooler is based on temperatures and flow. So running at 1 bar of boost on a 2l or 2,5l creates the same temp, but more air flow (due to the capacity) on 2,5 makes it a bit more challenging.

Except if you try to push the worst of the 931 turbos like the 2470, then it will be more heat to handle of course.

Time for a friday beer!
