I’m from Germany and English is not my native language, that means you can expect some writing mistakes
I have already read a lot of threads in several forums, but haven’t found a working solution yet.
My car is 1983 Porsche 924 2.0
My problem: yesterday my engine began to stutter while accelerating. On my way home the engine shut down while I stoped at a traffic light, or rather the rev counter jumped to 0 then to 1000 and then the engine shut down. After I cranked the starter for a few seconds, the car started again and I was able the drive home, the engine was stuttering and jerking relatively strong.
At home a realized some misfires(bang from the exhaust), when I hit the gas a little bit while idling.
Until now I was able to fix all my problems with my 986 and my 924 with the help of forums in the internet...
Besides from these problems my 924 ran pretty good, I was also been driving max speed (+200km/h) several times on the Autobahn.
The spark plugs seem to be ok and have a brownish color. Also the wires look ok and they fit good on the plugs.
Is there a way to check the Hall effect sensor (idk. if that’s even the English name)?
Every help would make me happy!! |

Maybe the ignition coil is bad when heating up? _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

I also have the misfires when my engine is cold, but maybe the coil is not as good anymore. At least it looks very old. |

Welcome to the board.
If your tach is reading properly when misfiring and while accelerating, I suspect it's fuel related. Fuel filter? Fuel pump? Fuel relay?
Also check for vacuum leaks. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
