Anyone know about the mileage counter for the lamda system? What is the output like? I assume it puts out so many pulses per mile, anyone know the spec? Could it be used as a speed sensor on an EFI conversion? Also the Haynes manual says it's on the left front spindle, but I don't remember any wires on the left front spindle. Edit: I guess it says it's on the "left front wheel housing". I assume that means the inner fender?

Pretty sure it's a simple mechanical counter. The speedo cable that goes through the spindle to the outer grease cap attaches to the bottom of the counter box, and a separate cable goes from that to the speedometer. I've not looked at the guts of the counter box to see how it triggers the light on the dash.

On my '80 there is a box in the middle of the speedo cable that I believe is the mileage counter. I don't remember any wires on it but I will have a look next time I am in the shop. Mine is broken, so might not be the best example.

Yeah, I did some more searching and it appears that all it does is switch on the light. Kind of curious how it works mechanically. Must be like an odometer with a switch.
