Today was a Great Day!!!

I finished the final few tasks today, filled and bled the coolant system, mounted the wheels and tires (still have to put the center caps on),
and dropped it back on the ground for the first time since 1999.

Once all that was completed I started it up and drove out of the garage and gave it a much needed bath.

I then fired it up and took it for a quick drive around the neighborhood.
It ran Great!!, no issues of any kind, smooth acceleration with plenty of power.

This was the first time the car was driven since 1994 and I couldn't be happier with the results.

I want to thank all those that helped me get my car back on the road.

Thanks again, Ron

Here are the pictures of my car.

Wow! All you need now is some spacers for the rear wheels (or wider wheels) and to adjust the rear ride height! Looks awesome!!!

It's a long story of how I came to own the body kit that's on my car.
Its been a long time since I did it (1991-92) and have forgotten a lot of the details. I have been going through my old paper work and found the original receipts and paper work for the project.

One thing to keep in mind was this was all done After Holbert's had closed their racing department. The guys left at Holbert's, (it's been almost 24 years since this happen and unfortunately I don't remember their names) were very helpful in getting this car together and went the extra mile to help me do it.

But basically it was made from the Holbert molds, but with some changes because the some of the molds had warped and we're no longer usable.

I was originally going to build the GTR version, but the rear quarter panel and front fenders, and spoiler molds had warped and the panels that were made were not usable. I was able to use the hood with scoop, and rear spoiler.

I then decided to go with the super wide kits rear quarters, front fenders, and front spoiler along with the GTR hood + scoop and rear spoiler.

I worked with Mike over at IFC and my car was the prototype for his 924/944 Wide body Kits.
The project took about a year and a half or so, (again this is all from 24 years ago so exact time and dates are long forgotten, lol),

The end result is the car you see above.

Ron

(I edited my original thread as the body details are now clear here)

The dash is original and is in new shape, no cracks. I guess it helped to be in covered storage for 20 years, lol.

Me to I always loved the way the looked and felt.
Those covers are actually over 20+ years old and still in new shape. I kept them in a sealed heavy trash bag with some desiccant bags to keep them from mildew damage.

The Rims are C.S.I 3 piece racing rims 16x9 rear with 245/45's tires and 16x8 front with 225/50's tires. I don't remember the ET but I'll check.

The rear tires are pretty wide its just that the fenders are wider, lol.
They were designed to handle racing tires after all.

I raised the rear height a little for now because I'm going to have to go to a taller 50 series tire because of the lack of choices in 245/45 size.
Once the new tires are mounted I'll adjust it accordingly when the car has it 4 wheel alignment done.

I did some more research on the wheels and found the center caps.

They are actually C.S.I. Wheels, not the MSW/CSL I thought they were.
Once I found the center caps it was clear that the L was actually i.

Man life before the internet was tough, lol.

I don't know what the ET is off hand but I did measure the distance of the mounting flange from the center mesh at 30mm.

The wheel data plate lists a +10 offset, and the inside lip is 6" and the outside lip is 3". I also seem to remember that the offset was chosen to keep the loading on the bearings and axels as close to the stock 944's as possible.

This may be tmi but it was bugging me that I couldn't remember the details (it sucks getting old), and the original receipt only listed wheel size and cost, which was $398 each in 1990.

I took some closer pics,
