If you find that you suddenly can't log in to the board the problem will probably be caused by old browser cookies from the old server.
What you need to do is delete the old 924board.org or www.924board.org cookies.
First go to a site other than 924board.org. Then:
If you use Firefox:
Click the "Tools" menu item then "View All Cookies" then click on the 924board.org or www.924board.org line and click "Remove Cookies".
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Click the "Tools" menu item then "Internet Options". Select the General tab and under Browsing History click Settings. On the Temporary Internet Files and Browsing History popup click "View Files". If you scroll down you should see one or more entries with a name of "cookie:.....@924board.org" or "cookie:....@www.924board.org". Click on these to highlight them and press Delete to delete then.
If you use Chrome, Safari, Opera or something else:
I don't use any of these so if you do then please reply with the method of cookie deletion. Thanks.
You should now be able to go to 924board.org and log in. _________________ Remember; This is a democracy, one man, one vote. I'm that man and this is my vote. |

In Opera 12 and below, right click, select Edit Site Preferences, click Cookies and then you can delete them. Click Ok and refresh the page.
In Chrome (and Opera 15 and above will be similar), open Settings, click Advanced Settings, select Content Settings under Privacy, then All Cookies And Site Data. Scroll down to www.924board.org and then you will be able to delete them. Click Done a few times to close the screen.

Safari on my Mac is no issue and no action required. It just works!
Safari on my Windows laptop needs investigating, probably a similar 'fix' to IE etc. and delete the cookie by exception.
However on an iPhone and iPad the only option in settings is to delete ALL cookies/history. Therefore loosing ALL browsing history and ALL usernames and passwords. Not an acceptable solution for me.
Any other suggestions? _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I've been unable to log in with IE for several days. I don't have a cookie identified as 924board.org on either computer system to delete. I just loaded Google Chrome as a test and was successful in logging in. Any other ideas on how to fix IE?
Thanks,

Don't use it. Ever. Unless you absolutely have to (like for work for example).
You could try clearing all of the cached content and temporary internet files within IE if you really want to use that POS. _________________ Stefan

Both my old Android phone and my Nexus 7 use Chrome.
Press the menu button (the 3 dots or lines) then go to "Settings" then "Content Settings" then "Website Settings" select 924board.org then "Clear stored data" then "Clear all". _________________ Remember; This is a democracy, one man, one vote. I'm that man and this is my vote. |

Stefan, you are right. I guess I'm going to keep using Chrome on my shop computer. Not sure what to do yet about the home computer, I'm handcuffed to IE there.
Thanks,

yeah, that happens occasionally.
It happens when the board gets hit by multiple search-engine robots at the same time. Each robot opens a new session and there can be hundreds of them. The board software cleans up the mess but sometimes it's not quick enough.
When you get that error counting to 10 and hitting reload usually gets you in. _________________ Remember; This is a democracy, one man, one vote. I'm that man and this is my vote. |
