I've heard of issues with the foam socks melting due to back fires through the intake and then the foam is sucked into the intake tract.
I'd go with the heavier duty oiled-fabric ones with the chrome tops just to be on the safe side.
Or build a cold air plenum and remote mount the filter, but that's a bit more work. _________________ Stefan
