Trying to get the 'hard parts' done and back into the car before october. After wrestling with the EDIS wheel, the DIY version was not designed to bolt onto the group-buy aluminum hub, I'm on to the sensor install. After a couple of hours of trying fab up one myself, thought I'd try something else. The A/C belt tensioner seemed a likely candidate. Had to scrub off some metal, but it bolted in nicely, away from the belt. Also, the bracket doesn't position the sensor close enough to the wheel, but a longer bolts and a few washers did the trick. (obviously the sensor will receive some cleanup on it's attachment method!).
Question though, (haven't done any research on how the EDIS system works regarding picking up the 'signal' and where) can the sensor be located anywhere around the wheel? (Have 6 months of 'winter' in Arizona to rewire the car, setup MSII, rework the rear CGT fenders, etc.) Here are a couple of pics. Flame suit is on for those that disprove of 'garage logic', and actually would send out CAD drawings to a machinist, or, machine one's own part~!

Oh, that's sweet! Kinda wish I had the patience for that! I'll have plenty of time to finalize that, with the 8 positions the DIY wheel allows. Hopefully~! _________________ '83 944 Track car.

You can also alter the degrees to offset the missing tooth within the software, if you can't get it perfectly aligned. _________________ Stefan

Hmmm, the pic is accurate as the engine is at TDC. I'm a whole tooth away, might not get the adjustment I'll need. Stay tuned! No pun intended... _________________ '83 944 Track car.

SOLVED! After studying the whole situation over a cup of ice cream, too early for beer, I think I have it. I used a cable/hose bracket found on our cars in quantity. I cut off the original 'wings' on the sensor, fabbed up the correct number spacers and washers, and here it is. It should win any garage-booger trophy out there~!
