I was turning a 90 left and I started to understeer on a cold, slightly damp road. I added positive lock, then the rear came out and my rear right wheel hit the curb; it's punched into the wheel well and not scrubbing please help me.
Thanks again

What kind of help are you looking for? You'll need to replace everything from the tranny out to the wheel and then get an alignment. I'm sure there are lots of good used rear control arms floating about and the job isn't that hard.
Sorry to hear this. With winter coming, driving becomes more of a challenge. _________________ '84 944 - kid blew motor

Four lug or five lug? I may have most or all of the spare parts you'll need. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

If replacing the control arm and a few other parts is the quicker option, that's all I have time for lately I've no idea how to redo bearings and rebuild calipers.
I can't seem to find any new/oem/used rear control arms online...strangly.
Can someone recommend a good site? (ideola?)
or the part number?
Thanks 924 community _________________ 1980 porsche 924 turbo 5speed getrag gearbox |

Do you have a Haynes manual?
And then there's this in our own How-To section:
Replace front wheel bearings
I have 5-lug caliper repair kits listed on my website:
http://garage.ideola.com/prod-Kits.html
I have a set of both 4-lug and 5-lug rear trailing arms. If you're not going to do a complete five lug conversion, then you should keep it simple and replace just the bent 4-lug control arm. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

OK, you do now understand that positive steering lock is not the right way to deal with understeer?
I would expect, based on my experience hitting and getting hit, you have a bent rim and trailing arm. Agreed, it's not that bad of a deal - but you will need to get it properly aligned (toe and camber), and it does require some large metric sockets/wrenches to swap (24 and 19mm). _________________ Vaughan Scott

That's the right front one, except it doesn't have the mounting tabs for the swaybar... one taken from an actual 924 (non-S) will have 'em... _________________ Vaughan Scott
