Hi Everyone,
I've owned my 1977, 924 for close to 15 years now. Last couple of years I haven't been driving it much, so it's been sitting a lot. Now it's developed a strange issue.
When I take off the car will start to buck and hesitate, like it's not getting enough spark or fuel. It doesn't matter if I'm taking off from a stop or driving 30mph, the same bucking continues. There's no hesitation when the car is not under load.
Here's what I've done so far.
1) Checked all plugs and plug wires
2) Cleaned throttle body and CIS plate
3) Changed gas
4) Checked the distributor and the coil
I've also checked the injectors, their spray pattern is not ideal, but they do spray ok. I've even switched some of the less than ideal ones with injectors from my parts car. No change.
Any help or ereas I can check would be helpful. Other than taking the fuel distributor off, I'm stumped. |

Sounds like you need to break that car. Spurs and a rope should help. A sturdy round pen can't hurt either. _________________ 87 924s

I had similar issues. Fuel pump died later and a new one fixed the lurching. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

| Found the problem. Looks like it's a bad WUR. I disconnected the wiring for it and car runs with very minimal bucking. So now I need to figure out what's wrong with it. |
