It seems to be two clamps and a tube going to the valve that probably is fitted in the brake (vacuum) servo (not sure what to call it in english).

Thats the crankcase breather hose.
Fitted to the air box on USA cars and to the air induction boots on ROW cars

Hmm I can't seem to remember a valve on the crankcase breather hose.

But if there is then I'm probably wrong in that it might go to the brakebooster (found the correct word now I think...).

My bet is that Ozzie is correct.

^Engine breather (US) [ 924.ORG Garage =—>924 Technical Section, Chapter 1 Engine ]

…I guess your 924 would be covered in the E_924_85_KATALOG.pdf and not the US PET.

Like Mr. Ozzie kindly pointed out before me …twice, your Blockbreather should have #25 fitted that
connects onto the intake manifold between your Airmeter and TB. See drawing below.

Use cap #19A (or something simular) to block off the old airbox/venthose connection.
You don't need #19 once you have #25 in these younger cars.

yup, that will have an negative effect on the airmeters functioning.
That is, when it's #25 we are talking about; #19 Does have less effect.
CIS doesn't like air leaks that size. You probably need to adjust the mixture settings once you
return to a vacuum thight air intake system. …At least if this not just happened.
I hope you didn't put a lot of miles on her in this false air setup.
Uuhm… and I guess your engine used a bit more oil than usual?

Kind regards, Harm.

CIS doesn't like air leaks that big.

But in this case the air leak is before the air is "messured" by the CIS. So it shouldn't matter I think.

Yes, but more unmeasured air… less lift… less fuel… lean mixture… =

If 25 is missing, or open, your car won't run normally.
If your crankshaftbreatherhose goes to the airfilterbox (like 19), there is no effect on the runningcharaceristics of the engine if it missing.

There is no valve between the crankshafthosehole and the airtubehole, but in the crankshaftbreatherhose is a restrictor, with a hole of about 6mm.

So does the red line mean that # 25 hooks to the bottom of # 12 ?
Thought I'd check what set up I have and condition.

Yes, it does, but this doesn't work on your 1977 US 924:
Your intake manifold pipe doesn't have the necessary connection down there.
PET shows different numbers for later years in different combinations though (?)

BTW I based my assumption on the thoughtful and rather handy information
left in your signature that rules out your car would qualify for that setup.
…something I wish Andrew would do

I was answering for no 19 in the picture which was the original question, not 25 which is another story...

So I guess we are both right depending on what setup the car in question has.

capiche!

Odd! I go look at mine and I have #19 running from the block to the back of the airbox just like I should, but... (why is there always a big but)
Right where the metal part comes out of the block, it turns 90 degrees, then it has a Y in it. One hose runs to the back of the airbox, and the other runs up to the charcoal canister up by the wiper motor. I follow the hose coming off the block Y, up to the canister, then there's a hose coming out the canister that runs down the left fender and has an open end behind the left headlight.
I thought the charcoal canister was for gas fumes?
I looked at the diagrams on PET and it shows the charcoal canister hooked to the gas tank. PET is for a 1979 and mines a '77.
Why would I need to filter the crank air with a charcoal canister AND run it into the airbox?
I'm not having a problem with my hoses like tuf-924, just curious.
