|
|
Well, tried a search, but my search skills must be lacking. Here is my issue....
Building a track car slowly but surely out of an 81 NA, bought a Bursch header, but still deciding on the rest. Bought an Bosch O2 sensor, thinking that it would be the right one as per the PET. The O2 bung on the the new header is a male connection, and (pun aside) two male connection cannot go together.
Am I missing something - or is there another O2 sensor that I need to get. Also, if there is a way to bypass the O2 sensor and still have the injection system work and the car not sputter and try to die all the time, I am all ears.
Pics linked below. Thanks in advance!!

I think that hole is for an EGR, not an oxygen sensor. I could be wrong though....
I would mount the oxygen sensor further down the exhaust, past the collector.
You'll need an oxygen sensor bung, a welder and a grinder.
Plug off the other hole (or weld it over). _________________ Stefan

Maybe the exhaust temperature sensor?
Looked at the PET closer and the exhaust temp sensor looks like it has the right fitting on it and is about in the same location on the stock exhaust.

Never mind - It had a (J) next to it, which, after another close examination of the index - it was only on the Japanese models - thank goodness as the only used one I could find was $180
So.....I guess to find a way to close it up. I will wait to see if I need to weld a bung until I get the rest of the exhaust.
Thanks Fiat22turbo!! _________________ Ian Edgerly
