I just spent a half hour skimming 9xxgirl's more than 1500 posts. A while back, she posted pictures of a fuel system mod she had done to help her with... I forget, cold starts or something. But that's why i was looking for it. When I first read it, I thought, "oh, that's cool, I need to remember that!" And I promptly forgot it. Is this ringing any bells? _________________ Fred- 1979 924 |

A while back I made a mental note of a post where she replaced the AAV with a heater valve. That way extra cold start airflow could be controlled manually from the drivers seat.
Just a temporary fix for bad AAV, but a nice idea. _________________ 1980 924NA ROW |

9xxgirl is for real. She sent me awhile back quite a bit of literature and suggestions in order to get my 924 running again. She has displayed considerable knowledge in Porsche and is willing to share it. During this time frame 9xxgirl appeared that she is a very active, busy person with a demanding career. I consider her a major contributor in helping noobs with technical issues. From conversations we had I do not believe Rasta is 9xxgirl in disguise. Unless Rasta actually resides in the U.K. with an U.K. email address..... _________________ 1982 Porsche N/A |

Here's where she mentioned that AAV fix.

While that's really cool (I love when people are resourceful like that) I don't recognize that specific post as the one I am trying to remember. It's just not tickling my visual memory. She posted some photos of her engine and some kind of valve thing she had put together. It might actually be that fix she mentioned in that post, but I don't recognize the photo.
I'll keep looking. _________________ Fred- 1979 924 |

Hey! That's it! I think that's a pretty clever idea! Gonna give some serious thought to doing that to mine. Thanks! _________________ Fred- 1979 924 |
