Rear flare teaser

Should have shell from firewall back in 2k polyurethane primer this weekend.

Still have to fit headlight buckets and finish front bumper.

More info and or photos on the rear "rear flare teaser" would be awesome.

Have an prep-work pics of the rear fenders before you put the new ones on? Going to start my similar, but not nearly as nice, CGT project this spring!

The rear flares started as AIR flares. I added inner liners and the flare.

The flare is only 1 1/2" wider at the top but I sectioned about 4 inches of the flare to give it the GTR look but not as aggressive. I have 285/18's for the rear but replacements will be 295/18's so they will definately fit inside the flare now.

I have some pics I'll upload later today.

Dutch924-racer Yes, I welded the flares. I cut the outside and inside flares the same distance and added a filler strip to make the flange look like the original GTS.

Joes924Racer Factory 996 Turbo Twists. 8x18F 11x18R. Havent decided on a color, leaning towards Carmona/Carmen Red, a late 911 color.

morghen Thanks for the compliments, I'm just north of Boston.

Here's some pics of the fender flares.

Flare's been cut and gap already filled with fiberglass, first layer of MarGlass. Shape of front section of flare didnt change, starts to flare just above body line to 1 1/2" at top, rear edge of flare is moved out 1"

I have been thinking of widening my gt flares ever since I put them on almost 4 years ago. It is cool to see someone else doing it, this may stimulate me into action this summer to get that extra 3 to 4 inches I want in the rear width.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

Did you do the arches yourself? You got an eye for details my friend. The extra arch for the torsion bar is just over the top. Impressive. I will follow this for sure!

Thanks! I've done all the work on the car so far.

I studied pics of original CGT's and copied the arches the best I could. I kept the cutout for the torsion bars even though I'm using a coil over setup.

Only difference with the arches was I added a threaded standoff to brace the front of the flare rather than welding the brace to the outside of the rear quarter.
