Porsche Parade Chicago 2010. Unfortunately, I'm booked for something else that weekend and won't be able to attend.

Another possibility might be having the Omaha crew host something...they're not too far from the geographic center of the US...

Gents, I wonder how many 931s we could get together in the same place, and how we could arrange to make it happen.

Is there interest? Suggestions on locale?

Shaggy wants to meet some brethren this summer.

That looks like a great place for a Toofah Trackday!

Nice looking place, just spent some time on the website. I'd be interested in coming down for a weekend. I'd have to take in their friday orientation session, since I"m a comple noob.

Time to get ahold of Don & Tom & Stan & Jim.

That track did some Porsche-specific stuff for the local PCA last fall...

I'd need the noob course too...

I might be able to get 3 '31s there if I could talk my boy into coming and the new Euro turns out to be close to road worthy...

Here's another one in Colorado. We might consider it if nobody east of the Mississippi is attending. . .geographic center may be less important.

Well, I'm east of the MS, but that's still doable. Omaha is like 11-12 hours, that's about another 4. And the Denver area is GREAT.

The problem with those of us in the Northeast is we tend to view anyhting more than a 4 hour drive as too far... forget 10-12 hours.

Hershey PA is about as far as I can see myself actually driving.

The "Omaha Crew" would be more than willing to host a gathering this summer.

Mid America Motorplex, MAM, is about 20 minutes south of I-80 on I-29. They have something called "Fast Friday's" most weekends of the season. I think the cost was $110 last year. They do have an orientation the first Friday of the month, but if we got a large enough group we might be able to do something on a different weekend. The Great Plains Region of the PCA will probably have a DE event in late July at that venue. The plus with that is the GPR has a great group of instructors and a outstanding novice program.

There is also a track at Hastings, Nebraska, Motorsports Park Hastins, http://www.racemph.com/, about two hours west of Omaha, that is fun to drive. I don't know of a DE event a that location this summer, but it could happen if everyone wanted to do something there.

We can do about anything somebody wants to do just give me enough time to make the arrangements.

Tom

HPR is less than two hours from my house! I haven't been out there to check it out yet, though. It sounds good.

If you read the High Plains site it references another track called Second Creek Raceway which closed in 2005 when the land was developed for residential housing. I have lapped at Second Creek which was a decent layout; HPR's layout is supposed to be a whole lot better and much larger.

There are a number of decent to nice hotels in the Denver International Airport area that would be close to HPR. The Denver area has loads of cool things to see and do in it and some cool drives into the mountains.

Cheers, Brian

Well, here's my preference in regards to club track days. . .if we can get enough drivers, I would like to approach whatever track we elect to use and rent it privately instead of through PCA. The main reason. . .per national PCA rules, only PCA instructors can have passengers (NO FUN). They tend to have somewhat restrictive passing rules, as well. It would be better if we could just run our own lapping day. . .we would just need payment up front from all participants to cover track rental, and hire a flag crew & EMS.
