ive done some itb racing in my GTi a few years back, i may pick up another 924 to do some itb track days... was checking it out...

in my 16v GTI i was limited to only 10:1 compression, which is stock... but there seems to be no notes for the 924, and only spcifies if your carbed it has to have 30mm chokes... or can use the stock injection with stock throttle body ect.

so if i build a race only car, bump the compression up to 12.5:1 or so with a high lift high duration cam? something like .550" 300*? been a long time since ive looked at a rule book

Then you'd better go have another look at the book!

www.scca.org - look under Club Racing, Forms etc.

If you're wanting to run EP, you'd be better off with a 924S/944.

If you're wanting to run a 2.0L 924, you'd by far be better off in ITB than Prod. For one, it's been de-listed from FP. For another, it's probably more a GP car than an FP. But of course you do know where GP is now?

it's still a full prep E prod car, but no matter what you do to it, it will be a back marker. you will be really lucky to see 170 HP with the stock head.

Full prep is also literally a GT level build.

Vaughn is 100% correct, if you want to run SCCA, run it in ITB and in the appropriate STOCK (maybe prepared) PCA class, and have a ball.

If you want to run EP in Porsche, build a 924S. Limited prep means you could base it on a good PCA/SPec 944 car, and you won't be as back a back marker. In addition, it will be pretty blow-up proof.

Or just run SPU and just have fun on the track.
