just a thought but maybe your next mod should be a 928 fuel distributor. It would probably free you up some space and would make tuning a lot easier.
Just my 2 cents

My 2 cents would be to just EFI it. Much simplier.

NEMESIS, bearing in mind that this engine was built and developed over a long timespan and at a time before "affordable" efi systems were available. The budget for it all isn't really massive (although I sold my 928 for this), the clutch is the most expensive bit as the rest of it was pretty much sourced second hand. The hybrid turbo was homebuilt as was all the fuel system, the manifolds are stock Porsche and Audi, the stainless exhaust pipe from the turbo was made up in exchange for some 914 parts, the ignition system is original, the adjustable cam sprocket and the intercooler pipework are homemade and the coolant system......well thats just another nightmare, but it did't cost much! Thankfully the original engine builder did his homework really well which has made the rebuilding, development and improving that I've done pretty straitforward. I'll not bother adding up the odd melted piston, handful of valves, sets of head bolts and head gaskets that I've gone through!!

Min, at some point efi will be used. The ignition system needs upgrading first as it's still on points with no advance curve at all ( dizzy fixed at 29 degrees), so I'll switch to edis as soon as I've got the rest of the car sorted.

462avi, a few years back I bought some 928 fuel distributors with the intention of fitting one in place of the two 924 ones that are on now, but other thigs got in the way and now efi seems better.

I'll post some more pics when I get it out of the garage if and when the weather improves. Still working on sorting out the interior at the moment, just re-wired it over these last few weeks, now need to sort out the boost gauge and speedo.

Biggest problem at the moment is that we're stacked out at work so doing so much overtime means no time left to play in the garage.

Bruce.

Amazing build... very impressed.

More information on the audi head would be great... sounds ideal for carb conversions.
