doesn't center on one side so it doesn't roll/retract
any suggestions?

Pull it out all the way and make sure it rolls back evenly.
You could try to take it apart and rewind.
I have one in brown if you need one.

You can (could?) buy the end caps separately, for something like $2 from the dealer and just pop rivet them back on. I bought a pair like 5 years ago.

| Easy fix - disassemble, rewind and use pop rivets to reassemble. |

I already disassembled it. The spring action and cap are missing on out side, causing the roll to snag up.
What I need is both the spring action and cap from the driver side.
