Hey all.
I recently replaced my Throttle position sensor.
Problems prior to replacement were
Wandering idle. Would hunt between 600 rpm and 1000.
Would stall at a stop
no acceleration unless peddle was nursed.
Changed switch and acceleration is now good, no stalling.
BUT
Idle still wanders and is high
idles steady at 1400. when it is searching it searches from 1200 to 1600.
Could the position of the TPS have increased the idle? The switches come on when they are supposed to.
\
Idle control sensor/valve?
It used to hum along at 950 rpm so i don't really want to start messing with the idle screw.
Vacuum lines look good
Fuel press Reg fairly new
thnx again

Unplug the two vacuum hoses running to the boot. Plug-up those holes with your fingers and have someone start the car... if it runs normally you've either got a bad IAC valve or faulty air/oil separator...
{EDIT} Actually, you just have to unplug the one nearest the manifold... as the other just runs to the manifold and to the brake booster... _________________ '84 944 -White, Brown interior
