Figured I'd run this by the board, seeing as how we've got some great critics out there! What do you fellas think of a 924 with an S2 front end but a standard (ie. non-flared or modified) rear? Anyone ever seen this done? I'd like to do a mock-up on Photoshop, but it's been giving me fits. I suppose I could always install rear fender flares if the front alone just don't cut it, but... your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i cant see a wide front and stock rear looking good but, if someone made an s2 style front end for a narow car, i would line up to buy it...

Yeah... I've just about got the front bumper installed, but the car's been sanded and prepped for primer. It's hard to envision what it will look like when it's finished, 'cause at the moment it has mismatched panels, and I don't know if I want to spend countless hours on getting a glass-like finish on my paint job, only to find afterwards I wish I would've put rear flares on it. I just don't want to settle on a 944 rear end, or spend a fortune on aftermarket flares... I want something different, but different in a good way.

It'll look goofy.. Someone here posted a CGT(regular 944 front fenders) without the flared rears and it looked out of place.

Your best bet is to slap on some rear flares.

I swapped out the front end from a 944 so i can do the CGT conversion. It looks stupid honestly with the fat front and skinny rear... even the tires look funny.

Ive seen a 924 with a 944S2 bumper fitted to it... stock 924 fenders and everything. You just need to cut up the bumper to make it fit. I think it looks really nice. I don't have the link on me right now... maybe someone here can remember: Its a silver 924 with lazy-eyes headlight conversion.

I disagree, I think the 924 needs just that.. more chin! It has a massive over bite that is hideous!

I agree, Flosho. I think the S2 front bumper/nose gives the 924 front end something it was desperately lacking-- aggressiveness.

first of all it wont give it agressiveness...the S2 looks rather sleek than agressive..
second..why do you want your car to look agressive when it is really not?
third..you will also need some sideskirts and a S2/turbo two piece rear spiler to go with that front spoiler..and if you got the two piece rear under bumper spoiler you need the 944 hatch rubber spoiler as it will look silly with the small one.
furthermore if you have all these you will want 968 mirrors and handles on your car.
by now the car looks very nice but sits too high and it wobles and you hit the nose preety often...also the wheels are too small...so you need the 5 lug setup.
after all..you still got a not very agressive car looking very sleek...not agressive...sleek.

I'm sorry, Morghen, but I think you're way off base here. Of course, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and that's why I posed the question on the board -because I want the feedback of others- but it seems like you're simply trying to contradict everything I've said.

1. The S2 bumper is anything but sleek. It's squared-off and bold. The 924 bumper is sleek ( a hideous overbite-laden type of sleek, but sleek nonetheless), tapered, and looks like the front of a jet, whereas the S2 bumper is broad/boxlike.

2. What do you mean "why do you want your car to look aggressive when it is really not"? What kind of question is that..? That's like asking, "Why do birds fly? Why do fish swim?" I've done quite a bit under the hood to get as much horsepower as possible, without spending an arm and a leg. Yet, what my car lacks under the hood, I want it to make up for aesthetically. Doesn't everybody want a good looking car that turns heads when it goes down the street?

3. Tastes vary tremendously from person to person. Who are you to say that I "must have this, and must have that"? Personally, I'm not a big fan of the spoilers, nor do I want 17-18 inch rims on my ride, like some gangster-mobile.

The last thing I want is for my car to look like every other 924 out there, or to modify it so it looks like another model. If I wanted a 944, I would've bought a 944. If I wanted a 968, I would've bought a 968. I want a custom car that doesn't look quite like anything on the road, not a 'wannabe'.

For some reason when I put the 944 fenders on, the 24 bumper was too wide. I sectioned the 24 bumper being it was fiberglass and it fits now. The fog lights don't but you could try after market fogs.

hey...sorry if i offended you..that was not the intention.

what i wanted to say is that if you put the S2 fron on...you will feel the need to add some more S2 elements because of the imbalance of style. The front end will look new and the rest of the car old.
It is a matter of taste..sure..but as i designer that is my opinion.

If you install the S2 spoiler the first thing you are going to see is that the wheels are too small and they look too old for that front end...i'm not saying you have to put 18-19 inch wheels but the 14 will simply look small and old....as will the 15 ones.

you say that you are not a big fan of big spoilers..but the S2 is a big one..it will be really low.

what do you mean not sleek and squared? how is this squared? this is the most elegant, rounded and sleek bumper i've ever seen.

What i meant by the car looks agressive but its not was that you will still have the 125HP...or less if you are from the USA engine in a car looking like a 944 turbo. You will get questions on the streets like: how many hp? 300? what are you going to answer?
i'm telling you that because i know for a fact...i've been there..i've had a fast looking car with a 125HP engine and it was not that nice...
