yep, I saw that one, and I also confirmed with DTA, pretty much any of these options should work, as you can set the frequency range in the software.
On that note, Perrin makes a pretty interesting 3-port unit, although it's a bit more @ $99

Huh, so you're paying $100 for a solenoid and some vacuum fittings? Man they saw you guys coming....
Solenoids are available all over the place in your local salvage yard and before any of you express concern over using salvage yard parts, understand that I've been driving turbocharged cars for over 14 years and have never had a solenoid failure. I've had tons of vacuum line failures but never a solenoid failure.
Ah well, to each their own. Good luck with the project! _________________ Stefan

The difference in cost between a scrapyard component and a new one with warranty is less than 1% of the total cost of my overall build. I'll take the new component every time, thank you. To each his own, as they say _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Rocco, very cool find on eBay...that item also shows up at gmpartsdirect.com for $25.08. It is a boost control solenoid for the GM supercharged 3800 motors _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Um, yeah like new components don't fail.
As for the warranty, refer to the movie "Tommy Boy"
However, like you said "to each their own" I just didn't want some newb to get the idea that buying some fancy solenoid and barbed fittings is any better than a generic solenoid from an existing vehicle. _________________ Stefan

Follow up question on these boost control solenoids...
Some of the references I've read the less expensive OEM valves indicates that they are good for "up to 20psi", while the aftermarket models boast of higher boost capabilities. The GM boost solenoid from the 3800 supercharged motors can be had for $25 new, and is one such example. I'm wondering if it would have a problem if subjected to boost in the 21-25psi range? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

How about a recommendation on a TPS...I'm using the stock 931/924S/944 TB housing...the DTA manual says "almost any linear pot is fine, preferable approx 5KOhms" |
Been awhile since I read much on this forum, anyway.. I have this TPS on my stock series 2 931 TB. It bolts/screws up with no modifications.

That's pricy I know, but you can find it elsewhere, it's basically the TPS from a 92 - 96 S4 or S6, possibly a '91 200 20v. _________________ Ryan Moone
