Seems like they're for sale everywhere now. Maybe the economy got bad enough so that people are selling their "when I get around to it projects."
Both turbos and NA 924's.
I'm not counting the 924S's because I consider those a 944. _________________ Current project 1981 931

last time I checked there were nothing but 924S's on ebay. only 5 at that. I think alot of people get to feeling blue about their project during the cold seasons. I know I do.. its when I havent driven it in a few months, and the garage is cold. _________________ 1978 924 NA

Virtually non-existent north of the 49th on the west coast here. Have seen maybe four or five in the two-and-a-half years I've been here. And that includes a couple of cars that 'board members own...
Still, there were over 100,000 of 'em built, a good number shipped to The 'States. I'd expect there might be a few clusters of them here and there. Look where the money was in the early '80's, that's where most of 'em will be, I reckon. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Khal,
Funny to me that many canadians call themselves canucks.
Growing up in Maine, the way I was taught, only french canadians can call themselves canuck. I'm not saying you're wrong, but how do you feel about that?
BTW, Vancouver is one of my very favououourite cities. Been there 5 times or so.
As far as 924's go, maybe it's the fact that we have the largest concentration of Porsches in the world right here in SoCal? Je ne c'est pas.
Maybe I should start buying them up and supplying the rest of the world with rust-free 924 parts? _________________ Current project 1981 931

Well, no, not really,Vaughan. A Quebecois is from Quebec. Many of them are also originally Acadians from further east, as is my family.
Anyway, ........... _________________ Current project 1981 931

I call them Canucks like I call people from The 'States Yanks. I am well aware that not everyone in The 'States would consider themselves a Yankee. The fun part is, coming from a foreigner like myself, either term can sound either affectionate or mildly insulting, depending on how I use it
(Also, as you're probably aware, Vancouver's pro hockey team is called the Vancouver Canucks, so Vancouverites in particular don't mind being called Canucks) _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I never figgured it out. I grew up in upstate NY, and went to college near Rochester. Our vending machines accepted Canadian currency.
Some of our northern brothers accepted the "Canuck" title as an accolade, whereas others took it as an insult. I finally quit using the term because of the confusion.
However, my parents, having grown up in New England, always referred to all Candians as Canucks. Always. My mom still does, even though her neighbors in Dallas may not know the term.

Recently, in a search for a parts car, I have searched the papers and Craig's list in vain. Nothing for sale in KC. _________________ Mark

They seem to be popping up on eBay a lot, Ive noticed. I was lucky enough to get mine right here in my town. There have been quite a few adds around the Omaha area as well for 924's especially. If anyone wants to get rid of one near the Omaha area, toss me a PM! _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell
