ok boys wel i had my head redone with a 280s type camm it is what they use in the 924 challenge this side. they side it is the same as 288 degree cam
well i had it in for about a month now and there seems to some funny noise from the head sounded like bearings when you rev it and let go there is a grr sound ....but after some checking i found that 2 of the srews for the shim buckets where gone so i want to find out it looks like normal grup screws can i just take one out and replace them with the same size or is it a special kind of screw....
o yes the 2 screws i think was never put in by mistake so they are not in the motor very lucky for that as i did a strip down of the motor _________________ Porsche ...where dreams are a reality

Did your rebuilder use lash caps instead of adjustor screws? This might be why there were no screws, but if 2 were not there it should be all not there, not some there and some not there.
In any case, the screws are NOT all the same. There are 4 sizes I think, indicated by little hash marks on the end of the screw -- none, 1, 2, or 3 (maybe 4) indicating the thickness of the screw. Check the tech section here at 924.org.
If lash caps were used, typically, they are like shims and you need to pick the right thickness for the valve lash you want. Mix-n-match.
Go back to your rebuilder and find out what's going on... |
