924board is a public board and moderators and administrators are there to keep the board topics steered in the correct topic areas and assist in technical questions.
General Rules & Guidelines
Posting items for sale or wanted and you haven't filled out the "From" box on your profile would you PLEASE let everyone know where you are with a city and zip code.
This will stop someone having to always post a "where are you?" response.
Cars should include vin or registration as well as all pertinent info, for example the option code sticker info, paint and interior color, condition of exterior, interior, tires, engine, mileage, and a contact email should be included in the post.
All posts over 60 days old will be deleted as they expire. Please repost or refresh your post string.
If you sell an item please delete the post, modify the post or state the item is sold.
Dispute resolution for a transaction that occurs from a posting at 924.org should be first handled in private, posting derogatory public comments is frowned upon.
Any transactions and outcomes are the sole responsibility of the parties selling and buying. It is not a perfect world so below are some suggestions when using the for sale and buy section.
A few suggestions:
• The best thing for you to do is to avoid getting into the situation in the first place. Ask for phone numbers and addresses, talk to the seller or buyer. Use a third party payment system.
• Be suspicious if someone you don't know makes an offer via a PM or an email to sell you something especially if it's in response to a wanted-to-buy you have posted. The normal way of responding to a wanted post is with a reply to that post.
• Find out when the item will be shipped before handing over your money. Remember, if the transaxle is still in the car it's going to take a while to get it out, box it up and arrange a courier to pick it up. Remember also that in most cases you're dealing with private sellers who have jobs, lives and families so things may be a bit slow.
• Learn to use the board search. Do research on the seller's Username or company name.
• If the deal feels like it is going bad contact the seller and ask what's going on. Remember that this is the real world and sometimes stuff genuinely does happen. Remember also that many things happen instantly but getting a transaxle from one side of the country to the other is not one of them. Give the seller the chance to explain.
• If the deal has gone bad then post a message outlining the facts as you see them. Start off simple like "Has anyone heard from .... lately? I paid for a transaxle four weeks ago and haven't got it and had no reply to my last two emails". Keep the thread alive by posting updates of your attempts to get the stuff you paid for. This might not help you get your stuff but it will alert others to the seller. And don't forget, if your stuff does arrive post a reply to the thread to say so and any explanation given by the seller (he might really have been kidnapped by Incas on his way to the Post Office).
Most of the sellers on the board are good honest people who go out of their way to help you. Unfortunately most is not all.
Any comments are appreciated, the goal is to clean up this section and make the selling and buying process a little easier.
