guy's,
As you may know, i was vasilating over what to do re the front end bodywork of my car, after a rather few too many impacts to the front necesitated some cosmetic surgery. Well, even though i may be a few thousand miles from home, time and tide wait for no man, so i have contracted a local guy to do the necessary work. I must admit bodywork is not my forte, so i'm happy to pay to have it properly done.
he sent me some pice this evening, and as you can see, things will never be the same!!
As the pics come through, i'll keep you posted. Any guesses as to what new suit she'll be wearing for next season???

No no no no noooo. Way to cumbersome for me to mess about with solo. It is normal wings (fenders) nose and bonnet(hood). You'll just have to wait and see _________________ Front Wheel Drive is the Devil's work. |

Well Guy's,
I guess this is going to cause some controversy, but here are some pics of the new front end. The badge panel will be removable, so i can access the intercooler & radiator easier. The advantage of the 951 racing front end is all the light holes are filled, saving me a ton of work, and the splitter sits at the right angle. If you look at the CGT front end, the lower edge is angled, making fitting the splitter a bit of a job. As this is a race car, repairs need to be straight forward, rather than hours of custom work. This is just a pre fix mock up, so a bit of work to do yet.
Steve

i'm not a fan of that badge pannel...nor the blind 951 nose...however lets see it painted.
PS: are the nose and badge pannel openings big enough to cool the rad and ic ? _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Well if it works for the 951 racers, i guess it's good enough for my old girl. And i know what you mean about the blind nose panel, but as she is a pure racer, there is no pont having lights or buckets ect there. just more weight ect. The reason i went for the blind item is that it will be removable, even after painting. As my turbo is now in front of the engine, this will make working on the front of the motor or cooling systems much easier.

Just paint some fake headlight covers on there, problem solved.
I love it, but then I'm partial to the 951 as well. You're combining my 2 favorite Porsches, the 924 and 951. I always imagined putting a 951 engine in a 924, but your way is good to! _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Flosho,
I believe the buckets are ok, but the perspex covers were painted, and there were no lights in the buckets.

Well the car will look great, I think the 944 with the metal splitter looked a little more "bad ass" and the new style will look more refined.
Steve, if you're willing to part with them, snap a few pics and ill see if they are salvageable to me(as my salvaging skills may not be as good as others'). _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Hm, will probably be alot simpler for maintanance. But it did loose some of its badassness . But its a race car, cant take that out of the equation, must be easy to reach stuff.
Are those rally slicks?, seems a little skinny for a racing car.. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
