I have them and I like them, they give you a pretty good vision what's up around you.
Ohh, I just checked it in the Performance Products Catalog, $560 for one side + install kit makes it ~$1250 for a set. Now I don't wanna loose them! |

| Yeah Joe, the baby turbos look good on 924's. I had them on my '78 when I was in high school. They're like $50 a pair from VW stores. I think the rubber boot looks kinda cheesy though. The biggest problem with them is keeping them. They pop off the door with a quick jerk and because the mounting flange is flexible plastic, it doesn't damage the mirror (but does damage the door). I'm currently looking for some nice aerodynamic door mount mirrors for my two 931's to replace the HUGE, UGLY, SQUARE Porsche electric mirrors. The 911 aero teardrop mirrors are ok but there's no way in hell I'm spending several hundred dollars on mirrors! If anybody sees or knows of any aftermarket mirrors that look like the new corvette mirrors but smaller, let us know. -Troy |

Good news. I finally found mirrors I really like. Check out http://www.visionhotrod.com. I can't decide whether their VF-1 or VF-2 would look best on the 924. The price per pair is $140. Not too bad compared to the 911 aero mirrors and they look better.
The Vitaloni California mirrors would probably look ok too.
Also take a look at the 4th picture down in the 924 prototype post. It's a Carrera GT with window mount mirrors like most of the newer cars. It would be a bit of work to window-mount but there are a lot of mirrors out there in wrecking yards. I recently stuck a 2nd gen RX-7 mirror in the window location of a 924 and it looked pretty good. The fit was pretty close and could work with a little effort.
Let's get rid of those ugly electric mirrors! -Troy |

I welded the holes on my doors when doing the body work....I don't like the electric mirrors either. I planned on using the Vitaloni Californian from Tweeks $64.99 pair. They can be sanded and painted the same color as the car.
