Hi Guys (and girls).
I know theres a few members on here from spain, just need a little help from some of them. Long story short, I've just moved here from the UK and got my 924 shipped over. Paid twice as much for shipping as I did for the car. LOL.
Where is there in Spain to buy parts?? I'm in Malaga province, near the border with Cadiz. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Scott. |

Hi Scott.
I'm spanish, but i am very far from your location (about 900km ).
I recommend you to visit and register at www.porschete.es It's a forum about porsche, mostly 924 and 944. The webmaster and some other members are from Málaga. There are a lot of members near you. See you there |

I think JAF lives in your area. Like you, she had her 924 ("Tiddles")shipped over from England. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Hey Rich. Good to hear about the EFI. I think I posted a response on the OC board.
My 924's a bit poorly at the moment. The shipping agent left the engine running with the lights on. Run out of fuel then completely flattened the battery. And some B****ed stole a wheel nut from each wheel, and my F*****g key ring.
(Exscuse the profanity, I get a bit narked thinking about it).

Thanks Rich.
Thats the least of my problems at the moment. Filled it up with petrol, and charged the battery, but was no where near starting. Spark was good, removed one of the injector lines from the fuel distributor but no fuel coming out, had a twiddle with me 3mm super long allen key and nothing. Then I broke the bloody allen key in the mixture adjustment bolt.
So.... I've got a new fuel filter here waiting to go in, a fuel pump on its way procured from ebay in the uk. and a new metering head, just incase I can't remove the remains of the allen key.........
I'm guessing that running the tank dry dumped all the crud in the filter and possibly burnt out the pump. Pump still makes a noise though. |

Hi Scott, Mike's right I'm in Andalucia but at the other end (east, in Oria near Albox). Takes about 1 hour 40 to Granada then I'd guess another hour to you. Big old place!
Haven't done anything on my car since I got her here. Need to recon the engine. Will probably get parts from UK or Germany as prices here are mad for even pattern parts (my dad just bought brake shoes for his VW T2 and they cost 70 euros!). Will get crank ground here though as the machine shops seem to be ok.
Hope you get your car going. The shipping company I used bashed into the front bumper leaving deep gouges and broke one of the indicators off. Sods. Found the indicator in the boot at least.
Might find me at the Spanish site practising my Spanish too! _________________ 1978 924na |
