I bought an Golf 1 GTI oil temperature gauge. Wich I want to install in my 924 2.0. There is an extra hole in the carter.

Does any one know of wich car I can use an temperature sender that will fit in the carter ?

An oil temperature gauge was fitted to the very early cars. Check your local Porsche agent.

Have you tried a search? There have been a few discussions about oil temperature senders in the past.

Theres a bolt in the sump, just above the sump plug. Can't remember the thread of hand, but thats where most people put an oil temp sender.

To get a correct reading, you need to match the sender with the gauge... so you should get the sender from a GTI.

You should find that thread size is m14x1.5 (unless it's been re-drilled and re-tapped (which would be unusual )) - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=19406

The meter is VDO, 0-150 C celsius.

Can I also use an water temp. sender ?

924RACR is correct about the sensor. Being VDO you are in luck as I understand they all use the same sensor thermistors with identical temperature coefficients.

Check that your sump actually has a hole since my early one doesn`t, just a cast boss.
