Weird. Check out the page 3 shot of the rear. Aren't those 924/944 taillight assemblies and a 924/944 rear Euro bumper?

I was able to repair mine 2 years ago without removing the glass. As I recall, it was a 3 step process using 3M Window Weld (there are also small bottles of a 3M cleaner and a primer that need to be purchased separately, NAPA has them). Just followed the instructions on the tube.

Part #'s here: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=16842&highlight=hatch

It's important to get the surfaces clean first. PATIENCE REQUIRED. With the hatch open, I just stuffed some wooden spacers between the glass and frame to pry it up a little along the roof line at the top. Then I was able to take a cloth soaked in cleaner and rub it between the two surfaces with my finger. Let it dry. I think at this point, the instructions called for roughing up the surfaces. Then applied the primer, let dry and finally applied the Window Weld. Lastly, I carefully let the hatch down (did not close it) and put weights on the top of the glass along the roof line to apply pressure during the overnight drying process. Total time was about 2 hours (just make sure you understand the whole process before getting started. The primer and glue dry rather quickly and there is no doing it over). Next morning, I removed the weights, checked and confirmed the glue was dry and closed the hatch. No more problems.

Just had my hatch redone here in the Detroit area by a local glass shop.

Did one great job for $200

No more worries about glass separation for a long time.

I think that comment was intended for me. Same response applies though.
