I have an '82 Audi Coupe. It is like a snowmobile. When others are stuck in their Subaru's, I am rolling by at 40mph. I think it is way faster than my Porsche. The gearing is matched perfectly. Did that one guy in ever get the Audi 5cyl in his 924?

It needs little things. I don't know what it is worth, as none of these ever come up for sale. _________________ Shut up fool, those are mine. |

Also have a '94 Mustang GT 5.0L convertible. It's up for sale. 46K miles.
Wife uses her Expedition for work and scaring other people off the road. Oh, and tow duty. |
Is that brand new? How do you like it so far? I'm thinking about buying one in the spring. |

It's a '98 and just turned over 80K on the way home from KC when I bought it.
I would highly recommend one. They're getting a little harder to find but well worth the search. It took me 2 years to find this one with the right color combination, miles and maintanence records.
Drive one and you'll be hooked! _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

In Europe spec cars, I can't say.
The Audi gearing is better matched to the engine. The 5cyl has more low end. My 924 feels too widely spaced in gearing. The 924 can barely make a +/- 17.7 second pass, while the Audi can tick them off at 16.8 pretty consistently. I had my brother drive the Audi, and myself in the 924, and up until 75 mph the Audi was way in front. From 75-on it was the Porsche. Handling wise, 924 all the way. _________________ Shut up fool, those are mine. |

I have an '81 with five gears. It can handle the turns fast, but yeah, in a straight line it is slower than molasses. I have a copy of an 1980 R&T mag. The 924 was "quick" in its day at 17.6 1/4's and 11secs to 60. Compared to everything in 1980, it was fast. Cars today are faster than they have ever been, though.

1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. The LSC has the same engine, just a higher standard trim package than the base model and it has true dual exhaust, giving it about 10hp over the base. (290hp, 290 ftlb torque) Easily identified by the front grill that is color-keyed to the body on the LSC but chrome on the base model. Other color keyed components on the door trim. Mostly an absence of chrome, whereas the base has more chrome pieces.
If you'd like a rundown on things to look for, pm me and I'll send you what I know. There's some expensive things that can go wrong and you want to check into the history of the car before buying. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |
