Can anybody tell me what the specs of injectors of a 924 NA are?
I'm looking for bigger injectors, which will fit? (part number or something like that?)

Does it has any effect when you have a fuel pump of a 911 on your 924 ? Mine has one, in combination with bigger injectors it should gain some power, or not?

as far as i know the 911,924,944,931 pumps are identical.

i have no ideea if bigger injectors can give you more power...but i think a new pump...new injectors and AT spec CIS can restore some of the 125 HP your car had when it was new. i'm doing the same with mine...i got new injectors....and i'm getting a new pump.

Anyway...if you want bigger injectors...try the 931 ones...they flow more.

New injectors can help (if the spray pattern on the old ones is bad), but a change to higher capacity injectors alone won't make a difference. You'd need to start with increasing the engines' breathing with supercharging, turbocharging, head with bigger valves, whatever.. Once you have a need for higher capacity injectors because of another upgrade - that's when you go for them.

Personally, I like the idea of air shrouded injectors, but I don't think anyone here's tried them. They improve atomization by introducing some intake air right at the tip of the injectors - benefits are increased power, smoother running and lower emissions. They were introduced just a couple years after the 924 (sometime around '84-'85 I think). I know some Audi's got them. The head would have to come off for some machining though because the tip of the injectors is wider.

One interesting thing I read... I think it is in the indian red article... The stock fuel system was kept but they "increased the fuel pressure". So how does one go about doing this?

Oh and the 931 injectors are not a simple drop in replacement for the NA 924s. I have a set of the 931 injectors I never used. Add those to the list of parts I have for sale or trade. Also have a 931 intake manifold.

Anyway... does anyone know how to boost the fuel pressure? My 1982 has a new fuel pump and next are the injectors... if I ever get any money.

Thanks
Eric

Yeah the 924NA injectors are push-in while the 931's are screw-in. -So you'd have to also replace the injector holders.

Fuel pressure is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator that's built into the fuel distributor, so I'd imagine they changed the shimming and/or springage there to increase fp.

I'd check/replace the injectors first before increasing fuel pressure. If your injectors are leaking or out of spec., increasing fuel pressure will only worsen the problem and thin out the oil resulting in increased wear on critical parts.

Well I recently tested them all and none of them are leaking. One has a slightly irregular spray pattern and this is why I decided to just replace them all when I can get some money together.

But good advice thanks

Eric
