Well I just got off the phone with Performance Products and found that the fuel pump is on intergallactic backorder. Any ideas where I can get a fuel pump for my '77 (build date of 9/76) for a bit more reasonable price than 600 USD? It is a single pump mounted outside of the tank. I called a few local suppliers (I work for a Chrysler/Jeep dealer and have a few contacts) but no luck so far.
Since mine is an early I may be forced to consider going to carburation. But I haven't been able to find even a manifold listed for it.
Any ideas???? Please let me know
Thanks _________________ I have a 924 (yellow) Porsche since I lost my 1971 914 in my divorce. She threw out everything except the shell of the body. |

Some guys have found used ones real cheap.....I've heard rumors the VW CIS pumps can be used with some on site engineering.
At one point Joe had a work bench full of them. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Pierberg makes pumps that have multiple adapters for different cis configurations. New and used Bosch pumps that work with the early cis 928's are available from www.928intl.com . The pumps with the internal check valve should/may work on your 77.

Like Dennis said; I have successfully used the Pierburg pump on an early car.
They're also a lot cheaper and more reliable than Bosch ones. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Heres a web site where you can find almost any part for any car and-
you can see on which other modell or car it fits to.
goto www.autoteile.cc check on right for model, select porsche then 924 plus right production year. The choose engine or Brakesystem or whatever from list and you get a couple of choices. For a 1/1976 to a 6/1985 car you can choose 5 diffrent fuel-pumps! Bosch for 585,80 Euros or Ruville for 168,44 Euros. Telephone and fax numbers are visible when you click on the OEM Name which is highlighted.
Hope i could help, Nobbi |

Hey, I just found a used Bosch fuel pump on Ebay for $100 and just from searching the internet I found several of them for under $200 brand new. Just try a broad search on any search engine and take the time to browse. If you still cant find anyting just write me a message and Ill let you know the exact websites I looked at. _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 Targa |
