i dont know...will i be better off?

The car is not lighten by much...it has fiber glass rear fenders and 944 front ones...it has the front bumper removed...wich was quite heavy...but the new one also weights some. I cant say that i lightend the car by much...actualy with the 5 bolt convertion i think i added some weight and with the new 15" cookie cutters the acceleration of the car is a little down.

So what i need is a car that can do 8 seconds 0-100 so i dont get passed by all the ricers around. The 924S does that stock...maby even better.

My 924 never made 0-100 under 10 seconds...with stock weels and its a EURO 1983 NA...this baby should do arount 9 seconds. Other than that the engine feels strong and pulls hard.

I will test it again after i paint it. and i get it on the road.

Why do i need this 8 seconds 0-100 ? i need more power into 2-nd and 3-rd for the track.

The 924S seems way more advanced and is more powerfull...and can get a Carrera Body wich i love more than the 944 body.

All this bullshit being said....will a 924 NA ever do 8 seconds 0-100 ?
Whats your 0-60mph 0-100kmph time CBass ?

I'd favour the car you have now for a few reasons. One of the big ones would be knowing it's problems, and how much they are going to cost to fix.

With another 924, you don't really completely know it's mechanical condition even if you get inspected. Also, if things do need to fixed, it will be much more expensive.

As for my 0-100km/hr time, my car isn't capable of 100km/hr right now.

924S isn't considered fast still...... faster than the 924 but still Gtis and some ricers are faster.

even if you make the 2.0 924 engine equal in horsepower to a 924S you're going to have to rev the shit out of the engine for it to be equally quick.

if you really want a fast car its probably smarter to save up for a 944 turbo. It's already a fast car stock.

yea tim but a 944 TS costs a shit load of money and the maintainance would kill me. so i must stick with the 2.0L or go with the 2.5L NA of the 924S

is the maintenance of the 944 turbo really that much more than a regualar 944? I really don't know.

Yeah they are expensive when compared to the 924/ early 944. 944 turbos are like 8-15,000 cdn here obviously depending on condition. I've seen them for cheaper like 6 grand canadian.

don't know prices in Romania, probably more expensive I would think.

Not so. The 924 has an inherent advantage in that it's lighter, meaning it takes less torque to accelerate.

A 924 turbo engine with basic performance upgrades can smoke a 924S in any case. It also bolts right in.

Whether that's smarter or not is a matter of opinion. I'd rather have a 200hp 2200lb 924 with a slightly narrower track than a 3000lb 250hp 944 Turbo. Modifying a car vs buying a used one, the 951 will not be any cheaper. Not to mention that I have all new and rebuilt parts in my car, vs a 951 which is going to need expensive maintenance items whenever they wear out or break.

I have found this forum the 924 Board, and the 968 forum but I can not seem to find a forum on 944? Is this site for both 924 and 944's or is there another.

Also does this site have a classified dept? I am looking to buy a late 944S2

Thanks for any replies.
